Biography

Marc has more than 30 years’ experience in the international hotel business and is a recognised specialist in hotel and resort development. He offers clients a full suite of services from concept and feasibility to operational advice to investment negotiation and corporate finance.

Marc has worked throughout the UK, Europe, Africa, Russia and CIS countries, and the Caribbean.

At Colliers International, Marc has directed in excess of 300 consultancy and project finance assignments and is highly valued by each client for his expertise, guidance and experience across a vast array of project types and requirements.

Few leading advisers have the depth and breadth of experience within the Hospitality and Leisure industries as Marc Finney. A consummate professional, he understands all aspects from operational details to complicated real estate and financing strategies.

Marc has also lectured and produced several publications on tourism, and hotel and resort development.

BUSINESS BACKGROUND

HVS London Office – In 2007–08 Marc was a director of HVS London Office, where he worked on a wide variety of valuations of properties throughout Europe. He led the firms work in valuing the EMEA part of the worldwide Hilton Portfolio, the largest assignment of its kind conducted by the London office of HVS.

Market Town Hotels Ltd – Marc owned his own golf hotel in Shropshire.

Buckingham International plc – Appointed as a director to the board of the Portuguese holding company, Marc’s role was to dispose of the Portugal assets. He personally arranged the sale of all of five hotels and two of the development sites, in all cases achieving prices better than the targeted book value.

Horwath Consulting – As a Managing Consultant Marc was a specialist in city centre hotels, tourism as a regeneration tool, resort hotels and operational reviews. He directed in excess of 200 assignments for public and private sector clients, becoming a recognised authority on all aspects of hotel and tourism related development.
