Božena Krce Miocic
Božena Krce Miočić was born March 20, 1970 in Split, Croatia. She obtained her degree in Trading and Markets in 1992 at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Economics. She enrolled in a postgraduate study program of Business Economy – Theory and Marketing Policy at the same University in 1996. She completed her Master’s thesis entitled “Marketing Characteristics of Ecologic Packaging for Ecological Food” under the mentorship of Professor Miodrag Hitrec, Ph.D. She wrote her doctoral thesis, entitled “Valorization of Economic Components within the Development of Nautical Tourism” under the mentorship of Professor Nevenka Čavlek, Ph.D.
Upon graduating from college in 1992, Božena Krce Miočić was employed as a foreign trade associate at the company Bezet s.p.o., where she worked until 1995, when she started working at the company Grafotehna Inc., as Head of Acquisitions, Import and Export. Following her move to Zadar in 2001, she started working at Kepol-terminal Ltd., as Assistant Director, while she transferred to International Seaport Management Ltd., in 2002, as Head of Marketing for Marina Dalmacija Inc. and Marina Borik Inc. She has been working at the University of Zadar Department of Tourism and Communication Sciences as an Assistant Professor in the scientific field of economy – tourism sector, since October 2004. She holds classes for the following courses: Introduction to Tourism Economics, Sustainable Tourism, Specific Forms of Tourism and Entrepreneurship in Tourism. She continuously participates in two scientific projects within the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports; one a bilateral Austria-Croatian scientific project; the other a project funded by the European Union. She is an active participant in creating local tourism development strategies, and has published over ten dozen scientific papers and participated in numerous international scientific conferences.
